Polymers

Your specificities...

Polymers are large molecules composed of repeating small units called monomers, whose number defines the degree of polymerization. These monomers can be identical or different, and their organization in the polymer chain can be linear, branched or cross-linked.

There are three main families of polymers: thermoplastics, which have the property of softening when heated and hardening when cooled in a reversible manner; thermosets, which are more resistant than thermoplastics, but for which the transformation into a solid finished product is irreversible, and therefore non-recyclable; and elastomers, which have elastic properties that can withstand very large deformations before breaking. The physical, chemical and mechanical properties of polymers depend on their composition and structure.

Polymers have many applications in industry. Their strength, lightness, ease of processing and low cost make them interesting materials for all fields of activity.

They are used in the manufacture of plastics, rubbers, synthetic fibers, resins, adhesives and many other materials. Polymers are also used in composites, where they are mixed with reinforcing agents (fillers, fibers) that give enhanced mechanical properties to the final product.

TESCAN ANALYTICS performs analyses to measure the physical, chemical and structural properties of polymers and composites, but also to identify additives and contaminants that may be present on the surface and at the interfaces of your products.  Our laboratory will also help you solve problems encountered during the production or use of polymers.

Our knowledge of polymer materials has been proven for over 30 years on all types of needs.

Industrialists in the world of polymers and plastics were the first customers to trust TESCAN ANALYTICS. For nearly 30 years, we have been exchanging daily on the problems encountered by the majority of the actors of this sector. Our team has thus developed a leading expertise in this field.
